 Who we are~
 A Black Orchid was established in 2004 and since then, owners, Nate and Cheryle Derman have built a solid reputation as one of the most trusted flower shops in the Denver, Colorado metro area.  A Black Orchid is committed to providing quality service to the community.  We believe as a family owned business, that a reputation as an honest and reliable business based on a personal touch and excellent customer is a recipe for success.  Our attention to detail and custom designs continue to push customers through our doors.  We offer a valuable product without cutting corners and work within any taste and budget.  We believe that excellent customer service, reliability and word of mouth advertising will promote a long term profitable business that serves the community. 

Get to know our family~
A Black Orchid is a family owned business.  We are not a corporate chain of nationally marketed "cookie cutter" florists.  As such, we believe it is extremely important to encourage business to business development with other family owned businesses.

Nate Derman has been a flight attendant for Continental Airlines since 1975 and works in the shop on his days off. 

Cheryle Derman is on the board of directors of Z Car Club of Colorado, Aurora Business and Professional Women and on the State Board of Colorado Federation of Business and Professional Women.  She has been an Ambassador of the year, Small Business Woman of the year and is an Ambassador of the Aurora Chamber of Commerce.  She is also a member of the class of 2008 Leadership Aurora and very active volunteer in the community.

Lauren Derman is the daughter of Cheryle & Nate Derman and the Store Manager and floral designer of A Black Orchid. When she is not designing beautiful flower arrangements, In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her boyfriend Jimmi, her dogs Hazzard & Cecil and her closest friends. A frequent concert goer and avid traveler she also spends time as a photographer as her professional hobby.
